Revitalize Mississippi, a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation, was formed to address problem properties (abandoned and vacant lots) in the Jackson area. Specifically, Revitalize Mississippi cleans overgrown lots, demolishes dilapidated houses, and provides related guidance and technical assistance to neighborhood organizations and stakeholders.

620 properties have been conveyed to neighborhood stakeholders:

  • 152 dilapidated houses demolished

  • 403 overgrown lots cleaned up, including 57 houses for rehab by new owners

  • 65 lots that were already being maintained by neighbors
